Restaurant POS System – Add-ons Management Guide

1. What Are Add-ons?

Add-ons are optional extras or upgrades that customers can choose when ordering a meal. Examples include sauces, toppings, extra cheese, and drink size upgrades. This guide explains how to create add-ons, organize them into groups, and link them to menu items in the POS system.

2. Navigating to the Add-ons Section

From the left menu of the admin panel:
 1. Click on 'Restaurant'.
 2. Go to 'Add-ons' → '+ Add-ons' to create or edit extra items.
 3. Use 'Addon Groups' to organize related add-ons together.

3. Creating a New Add-on

When creating a new add-on (e.g., Ketchup, Pickle, Tahina), fill in the following:
 - Name: English name of the add-on.
 - Name (Arabic): Arabic translation.
 - Price: Enter the price (e.g., KD 0.250).
 - Discount Voided?: Indicate whether this add-on is excluded from discounts.
 - Status: Set to Active to make it usable in the menu.

4. Creating Add-on Groups

After creating individual add-ons, group them using the 'Addon Groups' tab. Each group can contain multiple add-ons and can be reused across multiple menu items.

 To create a group:
 1. Go to 'Addon Groups' from the side menu.
 2. Click 'Add group'.
 3. Enter Group Name (English and Arabic).
 4. Select multiple add-ons to be included in this group.

5. Linking Add-on Groups to Menu Items

Once groups are created, you can assign them to any item on your menu (e.g., burgers, sandwiches). When the item is selected in the POS or online ordering system, all add-ons from the assigned group will appear as options for the customer.

 Steps:
 1. Edit the menu item.
 2. Scroll to the section where add-ons or groups are attached.
 3. Select the relevant group (e.g., 'Grill').
 4. Save the item.

6. Tips & Best Practices

 - Keep group names clear (e.g., 'Sauces', 'Extras').
 - Use Arabic names for regional ease of use.
 - Set prices based on cost of ingredients + margin.
 - Use “Discount Voided” carefully to protect profit margins.
 - Only assign relevant add-ons to each item for faster ordering.
